Los Angeles based IFM World Releasing Inc. (with a satellite office in Melbourne, Australia) is an aggressive and innovative international sales, licensing and executive production company whose principals collectively have over 50 years experience in the motion picture industry.
IFM’s President, Antony I. Ginnane, is a significant figure in the world wide film industry having either Produced or Executive Produced 72 feature films, movies of the week, mini-series and TV specials since 1970 including “Patrick” (1978), “High Tide” (1988), “The Lighthorsemen” (1988), “Screamers” (1995), “Dead Evidence” (2000) and “Last Dance” (2011), “Never Too Late” (2020). Filming of these productions took place in such diverse countries as Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Philippines, the former Yugoslavia and Lithuania.
In addition he has been involved in motion picture distribution companies in Australasia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Hong Kong. His experience includes the overseeing of programming, publicity, marketing, distribution and exhibition.
From 1992-95 Ginnane supervised international distribution of the Fries Entertainment catalogue of over 100 television movies and feature films from their US office.
In 1996 Ginnane set up IFM as a boutique international sales and licensing group. After a successful launch at Cannes 1996, over 9 years IFM has acquired and presented 120 TV movie and theatrical productions including “Captive”, “Pariah”, “Beyond Justice”, “Blind Heat” and “The Hit”. IFM World Releasing Inc. was established in 2002 and its factual division, Real IFM, has launched documentary series including “Out Of The Blue” (52 x 26 minutes) and “Off The Vine”(39 x 26 minutes), the HBO documentary “Brothers Lost – Stories of 9/11” and TV movies “The Risen”, “Rapid Fear”, “Look @ Me” and “10 Dead Men”.
Its acquisitions and production policy, both fiction and factual, is eclectic and exciting, covering all genres with an emphasis on high quality, individualistic material that is both entertaining and provoking.
IFM has an office presence at the major international film markets: Cannes and the AFM and the major international TV markets.
In addition to its international sales division, IFM has developed special expertise in packaging and brokering film and TV movie co-productions (especially between Canada/Australia and Canada/New Zealand) and acting as Executive Producer on these productions.
In the family movie arena, IFM has Executive Produced three titles with Cinar Films of Montreal; two as Canada/New Zealand co-productions and the latest (“Sally Marshall Is Not An Alien”) as a Canada/Australia co-production.
A third arm of IFM’s activities involves consulting on the international film and television business to various distributors, producers and financial institutions. Clients have included TVA International of Canada, Allegro Films Inc. of Canada and South Pacific Pictures of New Zealand and the Pacific Film and Television Commission of Queensland, Australia.
